Course Description:

Multimedia Design is a one-credit course designed to provide students with hands-on skills involving graphic design, digital photography, Web publishing, and digital video production. Students use various hardware peripherals and software for completing documents.

Career and technical student organizations are integral, co-curricular components of each career and technical education course. These organizations serve as a means to enhance classroom instruction while helping students develop leadership abilities, expand workplace-readiness skills, and broaden opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Program Goals:

It is the goal of the Business Department to provide students with knowledge and hands-on experience to prepare them for entry into a business related career or post secondary education.

Course Goals:

At the end of this course students will be knowledgeable of the following:

1. Multimedia Hardware and Software

4. Presentation Applications

2. Graphic Design

5. Internet Applications

3. Web Design

6. Career Opportunities

Supplies Required:

Folder/Binder, Paper, Pen or pencil

Course Fee: $30

This money will be used to purchase paper and printer cartridges, to maintain equipment, and to update software.

Assessment Procedures:

Nine weeks grades will be determined by an average of daily grades, tests, and projects. A comprehensive final will be required.

Make-up Policy:

All work must be made up within 3 days upon returning to school. It is the responsibility of the student to get make-up work and schedule time before/after school for make-up tests.

Students enrolled in this class are eligible to join Future Business Leaders of America. The club meets monthly and dues are $15.

Classroom Rules:

· Students must comply with ALL rules outlined in the student handbook

· Be respectful of everyone in the classroom at all times

· Be in your seat ready to being when the bell rings

· Ask permission PRIOR to accessing the Internet

· No food, drinks, or candy allowed in classroom
